Susan Jennings, a partner with Furley Page Solicitors and head of its Medway office, is chair of the Medway Business Awards judges and says:
“Medway is unique because of the wide range of fantastic businesses we have on our patch and their sense of determination, hard-work, and community spirit.
The Medway Business Awards seeks to highlight and celebrate businesses who are innovative, committed to their workforce and its development, strive to provide an excellent product and/or service and make a difference in their community and sector.
This year we have been blown away by the talent and wide variety of businesses that have applied, and we had a tough job selecting the finalists. Medway has bucked the trend in maintaining a high level of interest in awards of this type and we are so glad to have a forum to shout about the gems we have come across this year.
The finalists for 2023 are all worthy winners in their own right; from those who have developed and provide clever technology to those who save lives; from specialist manufacturing to people’s health, care and wellbeing, from those helping others to gain employment to those fulfilling people’s hobbies; from construction and maintenance to essential services and security.
The major theme from this year’s finalists is the desire and commitment to making a difference to their staff, customers and the world around them. Focus remains firmly fixed on investment, growth and the environment.
Many congratulations to the finalists. This has been the toughest year yet for the judges!
With massive thanks to Rachel Emmerson of Kreston Reeves and Gavin Coleman of Handelsbanken, both great at what they do and my fellow judges.”
